2027 - Sicily Group Long-Stay Trip
April 1 - April 22, 2027 | 21 Night Long-Stay Trip
Marsala, Sicily
What is a Group Long-Stay?
The idea behind a group long-stay program is to escape Canada's cold winter by heading somewhere warm for 3 - 4 weeks to shake the dreariness off! You'll be booked with other solos and couples staying at the same accommodations but your time is your own to spend as you wish. You choose your pace and activities at leisure. Long stays are meant to be relaxing and independent, not rigid or busy.
There will be group transfers for those arriving on the same flights and we'll look at group tour options once we guage interest. Other than that, your time is your own to keep busy or relax, as you wish. Join others to explore historic towns in the mountains or along the coast, or walk the beach in solitude. Join others for dinner out to enjoy fresh local seafood or paella or cook up a lunch or dinner in your own kitchen with produce and fish from the local market. Take a day tour, rent a car or wander ... choose to spend each day however you wish.

Beautiful Marsala
Via Col Vento is a small hotel that is just 400 m from the city center of Marsala and owned by a local family. Marsala is the kind of place where you can slow down and really enjoy everyday life. It's not as busy or crowded as some of Sicily's larger cities, which is part of its charm. You'll quickly get to know the local cafés, bakeries, and restaurants, and you'll find yourself settling into the relaxed pace that makes Sicily so special.
Enjoy a fresh pastry and delicious coffee in one of the town squares, and wander through the historic center with its beautiful churches, little shops, and quiet streets. Browse the local markets for fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood, cheeses, and homemade treats. In the evenings, enjoy dinner at a family-run trattoria before taking a walk along the waterfront. The sunsets in Marsala are truly unforgettable.
Marsala is also famous for its wine. The area is home to many wineries where you can enjoy tastings, learn about the winemaking process, and sample local olive oils and traditional Sicilian foods. It's a wonderful way to spend a relaxing afternoon.
One of Marsala's most unique attractions is the Stagnone Lagoon and its historic salt pans. The shallow waters, white salt mounds, and old windmills create one of the most beautiful landscapes in Sicily.
What makes Marsala such a great place to stay for three weeks is its location. It's close enough to many of western Sicily's top attractions for easy day trips, but peaceful enough that you'll look forward to coming back each evening. Whether you're exploring nearby beaches, visiting hilltop towns, or taking a ferry to the Egadi Islands, you'll always return to the comfort of your own home base.
